Tudor Castle uses a very high sugar content bright Virginia with a good amount of rare No.1 grade Yenidje, Red Virginia both dark stoved and raw red plus a full amount of barrel aged Louisiana . TD;DR: Tudor Castle is a fantastic VA/per blend that is quite unlike any other blends I've tried due to the presence of Yenidje. It is smooth and flavorful with quite a bit more . Tudor Castle is my favorite pipe tobacco and I will miss it tremendously. I applaud the McNeils for believing that their reputation is more important than money. I wish them well . Mar 23, 2012. #1. This is my first flake tobacco, and it's a broken flake. I used the "Cutting into Cubes" method as demonstrated here. The tobacco was very moist, almost sticky. After I cut it, I let it dry for a couple of hours. The "ketchup" smell disappears from the taste for the most part after some puffs.
